The Fallen are manufactured for want of a better word, they have been made to feel that way.

In the bible/book of Enoch version of The Fallen, these beings have lost their connection to their creator. Having been expelled from Heaven for their crimes they have had this connection removed or denied them by the one who made them.
For 200 of these beings (the counted number of Grigori in the Book of Enoch) this explains the feeling of emptiness they almost always say they have, but there are many more than 200 beings who feel this way, if they cannot all be Grigori then what are they?
This article may explain the feelings for some.

Suppose, just for a moment, that there is no specific race of Otherkin that is 'The Fallen', that there are only The Grigori Fallen with their connection removed by The Source, and Otherkin who feel similar and have similar feelings which make them perceive themselves to be the Grigori Fallen. In other words that many of the Fallen are actually members of any of the races of Otherkin.

What makes the fallen Otherkin differ from all other Otherkin types is that they too are missing a piece of themselves. This piece has been removed from them by someone.
In most cases it has been removed to facilitate a form of punishment either placing the person in exile or to make them search for what has been taken until they learn the lesson needed to be allowed to return to being their true self.

What is taken away is self identity.
I do not mean a given name, you can be Fred, Martha or James as much as you like but if you don’t know what you are, you will never feel right.
One of the most important facets of being Otherkin is the sure knowledge of what you are whether it is Vampire, Were, Therian or any of the other races.
Without that knowledge somewhere in it’s essence a being will wander through many lives searching for it but will never know exactly what it is looking for because the ability to know what it is, is not there.
Something that has come to light in recent years is a new form of Fallen. These new fallen are the ones who have done nothing wrong and were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
They are newly Awakening Kin that have had a piece of their essence stolen, rather than given it up or had it taken as punishment.
The stolen piece will vary from individual to individual but will always be the deciding factor that tells them what they are.
So for instance a Phoenix might find that he is unable to see his essence in its burning form or a Vampire may not feel the bloodlust, perhaps a were would not have the hunger for the hunt.
The end result is that the person is left with no choice but to believe themselves to be one of the Fallen ones.
All other kin have memories of previous lifetimes but it is well known that we can subconsciously mould the memories to some extent so that until we find what we truly are, the memories will deceive us occasionally and appear very different than they actually are.
These "dodgy" memories help the new Fallen to believe that what they are feeling is for real.

Incidentally if the piece is replaced then a true awakening occurs and the Fallen one finds out that they are in fact something very different and becomes their true self.

Just in case you’re wondering pieces of information like this are very active within your essence while you are awakening so they are easy to see, and take, if you know what to look for. And are of a mind to do it.
